Using color change ABS to monitor temps

I recently made a fan mount for my Jhead out of color change ABS and realized that it would start changing color after the hotend hit 170 or so, it was the heat working its way up the peek tube. The ABS is supposed to change color at 80f.

Do they make color change ABS that changes color at higher temps? My thought is using it as a temp monitor, like putting a ring of color change ABS on stepper motors to monitor if they are getting hot. Or like my fan mount, watch for heat moving up the hotend.

novel idea i like that, it could have a few other uses too.

i wonder just how stable that is over time though

this stuff came to mind www.sparkfun.com/products/11555 its a little higher on the temp end of things.

maybe just stick a mood ring on it! also to make your printer faster tape a cheetah to it's back.
