Prusa i3 rods list

Hi.

I am building my first prusa i3. Thanks for this great project!

I am confused on the rods dimensions.

In official Prusa i3 Build Manual it says:

2x 470mm 8mm smooth rod
1x 20mm 8mm smooth (for extruder idler, use 8x20 threaded rod or grub screw instead as substitute)

Y Axis:
2x 370mm 8mm smooth rods
2x 400mm M10 threaded rod
2x 400mm M8 threaded rods (M10 is actually correct)
4x 205mm M8 threaded rods

Z Axis:
2x 405mm 8mm smooth rod
2x ~370mm M5 threaded rod

So, should I assume for the Y axis this should be the complete list fot the y axis:

Y Axis:
2x 370mm 8mm smooth rods
2x 400mm M10 threaded rod
4x 205mm M8 threaded rods

Why was it changed to M10? In this imae all Y ais threaded rods seems to be same size. Is it really M10?

And are all dimensions correct?

It's confusing maybe, but yes you need 2x 400mm M10. So your list is correct.

im even confused too but i imagine your talking about the box framed version as im building the single frame

and these are

X Axis;
2x 370mm M8 smooth

4x 205mm M8 threaded - Note 210mm for nyloc nuts. If they are cut to exactly the same length will make assembly easier.
2x 350mm M8 smooth - Note take care to cut to exactly same length.
2x 380mm M10 threaded - Note M10 is correct.
Z Axis;
2x 320mm M8 smooth.
2x 300mm M5 threaded (or 320mm if you want it to protrude above the frame).

No, I am building a single plate version.

well the single plate rod are different to my knowledge as im building the single plate and i imagine the extra lengths on the box fram takes in account of the depth of the box frame

So, that list is really confused, as those dimensions on official link are for this model, and thats the one i am building


And I already have cutted some rods. Could someone confirm me the dimensions please. Now I am even more confused

the frame is 370mm wide the single plate so the x axis can't be 470 they will stick out read the wiki it tell you two different versions of i 3 spec for your rod lengths

ps the side of the picture sub headed Single Sheet Frame Style read that section about the sizes of rod lengths for the single frame

no i have updated nothing its been there all the time yes thats the one

Dam. Just figured out how stupid I was.
I printed a single selection from the wiki page, and i printed the wrong one. I printed the boxed one.

That was my fault. Thank you for the reply!
