Endstops always on

Endstops always on

I have just wired up my Ramps 1.4 to my Prusa and I am finding all endstops are triggered on by default. If I hold one of the endstops it allows the axis to move. Do I need to rewire or can I switch something in the configuration.h file? I tried the x_endstops_inverting false and that did not work....

Any Suggestions?

Wire the endstops to N.C and Common.

I agree they should always be wired normally closed. That way if one wire becomes disconnected it will stop instead of trashing your reprap. Happy building.

This is true as long as you have the firmware set to only use endstops for homing. Otherwise an NC switch that opens up during a print would cause a disaster, as that axis would start to only move in one direction.

Thanks, I am not sure how I messed that up. I will try again.
