Hi everyone ....

I've been considering buy a funduino

the main objective is introducing this technology (arduino)
beyond
based on some knowledge I have in CNC
adapt one of CNC machines for 3D printing
and initiate in this area

I already have 2 parallel (LPT) of TB6560 3 and 4 axis
and one more USB intention is to use them as a driver
motor but would like to opinions

some of the questions:
firmware for this board runs cool
what would be the most advisable Firmware for an Frankenstein arrangement
and other junk controls and sensors table
controls and sensors estruder
I thank all opinions and ideas

thank you all

Manoel

Marlin should be able to work with it. Search around here for "marlin tb6560" as I think the STEP signal pulse width needs to be longer for TB6560 than other drivers.

If I understand you correctly you're going to Frankenstein printer from one of your CNC machines if so just use EMC or Mach 3 and a couple temperature controllers for hot end and heated bed slicers like kisslicer allow you to assign a axis to the extruder so it acts just like a fourth axis here is my machine I use Mach 3

So, are you going to spam every thread with these images?

I think the first 3 threads were enough to demonstrate what an awesome printer you have.

Hi Ok, thanks

I had already read something, so like the Petrus machine
but something with a 555 running like a rotten AD converssor
and inputs of LPT

I will consider this and
because of being simple and cheap at least I will test before

hey bobc

I had not seen these photos and I liked what I saw

know you're in right.

so please consider our .....sorry!!!

tks

cnc dick

What is green and red hoses coming out
from your extruder?
liquid refrigeration?

tks

I've been down the route of converting my CNC machine to do 3d printing. It was a fun project, but in the end I ended up using it for just repstrapping a Tantillus.

I used LinuxCNC and made a simple board for controlling the extruder temperature. You don't need anything fancy, a small arduino board, a mosfet and a couple resistors. There's some info on the wiki, although if you are only repstrapping, that setup is way much more than what is needed.

Let me just take a moment and say that LinuxCNC RULES. Mach3 doesn't even come close to it and costs a lot of money.

I designed and made the extruder and hotend from scratch, too. I thought it was the bee's knees, perfect layer alignment, perfect dimensions on printed parts. Then I made a Tantillus, which ran circles around my CNC 3d printer. Many, many times faster, and much better detail.

Pros for CNC converted to 3d printer:
- perfect layer alignment
- perfect dimensions
- you can repstrap a reprap

Cons:
- extremely slow. The Tantillus prints 5x faster.
- low acceleration. This means crappy detail. The CNC has to move around a LOT more weight, so you can't expect near the acceleration you get from a lean and mean 3d printer.
- loud. Those nema35s make a lot more noise than the nema17s.
- uses more power, makes a lot of heat. I had a fan on all steppers and a huge fan on the geckodrive G540 just to keep things semi normal.

I guess you could push a CNC a bit faster than I did, but I was not going to kill mine. The CNC was designed for a different purpose: move a bulky router around at slow speeds with great torque. The 3d printer moves a small carriage at high speeds and great acceleration. And that's the reason why cnc dick melted the yoda head in acetone in the above pics.
