Best low cost printer for small and detailed precision prints?

Hi,

I know that virtually every printer can be tuned to print small and detailed objects. I'd just like to know, from your experience (especially if you have built several printers) - which one is most suitable for this task with the least amount of tuning work.

I don't want to start a flame war... just asking for advice.

I've built a Tantillus and its print quality is superb. There is a section for it on this forum, you'll find a lot of impressive prints there. Don't miss this thread.

In the past month since I finished my build I've used it a lot and hasn't required any adjustment or calibration.

Probably the most important variable for great print quality is acceleration. The higher the acceleration, the nicer corners you get.
