I don't think so. Another poster saw the same thing as foshon saw. I think sometimes this shows, and sometimes it does not show the shipping costs.

I think there is a very clear flaw/bug/limitation in their site.

if you click calculate shipping, it clearly does show the costs, which I absolutely did not do, and have readily admitted.. I clearly did not do that. foshon is accusing me of either lying or falsifying my screen shots.

Again, I have bought from them several times in the past, and I THOUGHT I knew definitively that their shipping was ~$7-$10 based on past experience ,so I did not try to calculate shipping, nor did I pay attention to shipping.

For the bryans of the world, and the sake of fairness, I WILL STATE YET AGAIN I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE CAREFUL, I READILY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT AND SHARE IN THE BLAME.

My point is not to say they are completely at fault, I never stated that, and never will. My point is I think they at a minimum share in the blame, and my personal opinion is that when a company/corporation shares in blame, they should take responsibility and make the situation right. Obviously some don't feel that way, as is their right.

Why should Lulzbot take any blame? The summary screen before you submit clearly lists the exact and total price you will be charged for the order.

The fact that they offered you some compensation at all -- which is probably their entire profit on the order -- is above and beyond what almost any company would give.

You have just as much responsibility to be a good customer as they have to be a good seller.

Caveat emptor.

Fair enough, I respect your opinion. I think this should have been made more clear up front, prior to the last submit button.

If they are only making 7-10% profit on what they are selling, they won't be in the retail business very long at all.

I would love to hear your definition of a good customer. I have always gone to lulzbot first for all of my 3d printing needs since I built my first printer, for everything. I have even paid more for products through them than I could have elsewhere. The only time I have bought anything elsewhere is if they did not carry something I needed. To me, that is the definition of a good customer.

My definition of a good customer is someone who reads the information given to them by eCommerce web site they are using.

Just for clarification, do they have to spend money too? Or just read information?

Nope, can't see that Lulzbot did anything wrong here. Bottom line is that the customer should check the amount before signing it off, and can't expect a refund for their own screwup. Clearly you need to enter the address before the system can calculate the shipping, so make sure you enter the address and get the shipping quote!

I think I would be disappointed if Lulzbot did offer a refund, rewarding incompetence sets a bad precedent. But I don't think the OP is actually interested in opinions and was just looking to moan, so this thread is going nowhere.

However, the take away for me is that Lulzbot is a good company to order from, and I might also get cheaper shipping than I thought, Lulzbot should advertise that more widely smiling smiley
