Wrong Temperature Reading in Pronterface
August 14, 2013 06:52AM
Hi everyone,

I'm using Pronterface for my MakerGear Mosaic 3D printer, but my Pronterface does not show the real temperature. In the attached file, you can see the wrong temperatures Pronterface show, although the system is not working and the parts are at room temperature. In my system, when the nozzle and motor are connected, the wrong shown heater temperature goes up to the twice of that value even the parts are staying at the room temperature and there is no working.

If you could help me, it'll be very great.

Sincerely,
Hamdi

Look at the picture - the TEXT is UNREADABLE!

You need a picture in the proper resolution.
If you are using Windows pressing Alt+Print will put the selected Window into the Clipboard.
You can then use Paint or Irfanview, paste the clipboard and save as a file.

Sorry, then writing the temperature measurement is better. Heater's temp is shown as 170 and bed's temp is shown as 139: while they are at room temperature and when I connect the motor and nozzle, heater's temp grew up to 357 and bed's temp is still shown as 139.

Looks like your thermistor's wires aren't properly isolated. A higher than real temperature means, the resistance of the thermistor is lower than it should be. Disconnect the thermistor and check its resistance at the connector. It should be close to the nominal value (10kOhms, 100 kOhms) at room temperature.

There's also a chance to have an unwanted connection to GND through something else than these two wires.
