Hi,
Suppose this is a bit of knowledge to share with you people, I have a Makerbot Replicator 2 and run out of filament last week, I went direct to Makerbot to get some pla and lead time was 2 weeks which I couldnt wait that long so I got some from ebay. When they turned up the spool didnt fit the printer spool holder! The spool in the middle was to small. I asked for a refund and they said if I send back then yes but I ordered 5 spools which would cost me 40 quid to send!
I tried to source spools which will fit the printing and found a UK supplier
www.3dplastics.co.uk who I called and told them my problem and they reckoned their spools are 52mm in the middle and would fit, they also said they changed the spool size due to their Makerbot customers.
Got the filament and no problem fitting the printer spool holder! Just thought this might help some one not make the same mistake in buying random filaments from the web.
