1.75mm filament onto an 3.00mm extruder

I've boutght an Prusa I3X with 3.00 mm filament extruder and 0.4mm hotend. However, there seems to be a lot of good reason to use 1.75 mm filament.

My question is : Can I use 1.75mm filament onto an 3.00mm extruder? or Do I need to buy another extruder for 1.75mm filament?

you will need a 1.7mm hotend , if you don't want clogging or jamming issues. even if you put in 3mm OD/1.75mm ID tube inside the hot end it will just slide up mid way thru the print causing jams. it may be expensive but it would be better to switch to a 1.7 hot end style.

also 1.7mm feedstock is a better deal on amazon because of the free shipping, but i don't know about the vendor quality. stick with god quality vendors. that will save you a lot of time!

You can use the same extruder for 1.75 and 3, i tried it with a Wade derivate. For 1.75 i added a PTFE liner in the extruder.
You will need seperate hot ends for the two sizes though.
