Hello,

I have a home made PrintrBot ( Original ), no heated bed, standard slic3r settings, 0.3 layer hights, plastic pulleys with t5 timming belts, my z rod is kind of bend ( has a small wobble to it ).
The first layers are of the rest are still of but less. I've mess around with the motor controler voltage, the belts but nothing. I will try to replace the z rods but i don't thing is all in the z rods.
Thanks.

Maybe you can try to lower the acceleration values on your firmware. If your carriage has too much mass, it could lead to missed steps.

Also, try with slower speed.

Try measuring your 12V on your board when the printer is running.
