ABS "Welding rod"?

This site sells ABS bars in the Netherlands, but they're more yellow than usually, and they call them welding rods. Is this still suitable for extruding?

ABS welding rods is what the extruder uses. That's why we are "limited" to only using materials that are used for plastic welding.

E.g., [www.usplastic.com]

It took me a *long* time to make that connection.

No, you don't want short bars, but continuous filament ("lasdraad"). It seems they're just not listing it on their website, but they'll likely sell it, given that they do sell a "lasdraadafrolinrichting".

Just give them a call.

I figured I shouldn't get these (20 cm bars): [www.almond.nl]
But these seem a lot longer, judging from the picture: [www.almond.nl]

Unfortunately they're quite expensive. The listed price is without tax, and it's still 8.50 for shipping, even though it's the same country...

They will work, but you'll have to manually reload your extruder all the time; you'll get quite tired of it, and it will cause problems with your build quality. I like to load up 50 to 100 m of filament at a time, if not an entire 2.5 kg roll.
