The Wall Street Journal wrote an article about at home tinkering, and MakerBot Industries was prominently featured. I was impressed at the level of publicity things like this are getting.

Unsurprising. The WSJ was bought by News Ltd and that corporation is currently trying to figure out a way to charge for internet delivery of news content. Boils down to them having trouble figuring out how to get you to pay to listen to them tell you how not paying is unworkable. This corporation is the pure definition of the antithesis of open source. News Datacom Systems encryption controls the majority of the world's access to pay TV.

I've got a feeling makerbot probably wouldn't need to worry about capital investments for a while now (I would have offered them a few grand myself if I'd thought I had a chance of them taking it). If this means there are always plenty of electronics in the store it makes me happy.
