How to mount extruder?! Prusa i3

Hi Guys!
I'm at the point where I can almost taste the completion of my prusa i3 but I've struck a problem!
I was originally going to buy a qu bd extruder but due to the seemingly bipolar reviews on it, I decided to buy a chinese extruder on ebay that a lot of people seemed to be buying and having no problems with. Initially the extruder looked flat on all sides in the picture but I just realized today that were was a weird protrusion from the extruder and I have no clue how to mount this! Can anyone please advise? Pictures are attached below:

Im using the x carriage from the vanilla prusa i3 repo and those two vertical holes on the protrusion make no sense!!!

The only way i see is to make a block that mounts to the screw holes on the extruder and mounts to the x carriage. Or sell that one and buy the correct set up.

There are some i2 to i3 Greg's/Wades extruder adapters that take a horizontal mount and adapt it to a vertical mount carriage. Worse case get a Greg's/Wades for now and design and print something. Check Thingiverse,
