I noticed the site/forum go down a few times in the last few days, i guess this is why?

I noticed that, too. The site/forums/blogs were down intermittently between late Thursday all the way to yesterday afternoon.
Server maintenance? DOS/DDOS? Bad luck?

It seems to be a server-side hiccup which went away after a hard reboot.
