Taking printhead back while retracting
February 03, 2014 08:57AM
Hello,
As I know, filament is being retracted in order to prevent bridges. But as I see, it is not enough because printhead touches the object and deforms it. Some printers like Stratasys' does not only retract but also move printhead up a little then carry it on air, then move down again. How can is this possible on RepRap?

Sorry if this was said before, I did not find anything.
And sorry for language mistakes, I am not good at English. If you can not understand, I try to explain.

There are settings in some slicing programs (like slic3r) that can do this. Just look under the retraction settings.
