Short circuit

Hello All,

I have made a mendelmax 1,5 which was working fine till i made a stupid mistake.
I put a steel clip on the heatbed which have given a short circuit. (Lot of smoke angry smiley).because the traces has hit each other.
The heatbed is replaced but the problem now is that he continues heat, the heatbed didn't stops any more.

The problem must be in the megatronics v2, does anyone know what part of the main board may be burned.

I hope there is someone who can help.

Many thanks,
Richard

The traces on your bed are exposed? confused smiley

What happened to the thermsistor? to monitor the bed temperature?

I guess that the MOSFET for the heatbed has failed short circuit. You would need to replace it.

bobc is right, mosfet bit the dust and is shorted on.

The thermsistor gives the right temperature.
Only the board didn't stop heating.
I have ordered a new Mosfet and Will recieve it within 3 day's

I hope it works , Will inform as soon as possible..

Many thanks for the advice.

unless you see damage or a crack in the mosfet I would think it would still work usually the mosfets are rated for over 15A. the part STP55NF06L, which i think is one of them that are used, is rated for 55A!

Hello All,

It was indeed the Mosfet.
I'm printing now.

Thank you all for your help.
