Heatbed slow in heating

Hello everyone,

I have a Prusa I3 printer which is working very fine. But I have a horrible time to wait until my heatbed is on temperature. Sometimes I have to wait for 45 minutes to come to a 110 degrees Celsius. I have chenged the wiring to thick ones, but doesn't fix it.

The heatbed is connected to a Megatronics V2 board with 12V output tot the heatbed. Almost no drop of voltage to the heatbed. Thermistor reading is good.

Does anyone has a suggestion to get this solved to a faster heating time?

What's the resistance of your heated bed? Should be in the 1 to 1.2 Ohm range for optimal heating.

What Amp rating is your PSU? It could be that it isn't high enough to power the heat bed quickly.

do you use a thermal insulator under your heatbed?

also check the voltage both at the bed and at the psu. You would be supprised how much difference there can be running at 11.5v rather than 12v

In the Dutch forum I read that the voltage of Hill's PSU drops 0.25v when heating up.
