Servo controlled z-probe on bowden extruder

I have successfully implemented a servo controlled z-probe on my bowden extruder, what I did was mount the servo on the frame, then use a standard bicycle brake cable attached to the servo at one end and then attached to a hinged latch which has the micro switch attached, the latch has a tiny adjuster screw for fine adjustment. When the servo engages it pushes the cable, which pushes the latch down, with the probe close to the hot end.

And of course Marlin includes all the fuctionality for controlling a servo before doing a bed-probe (tho I am using [github.com], which I had to re-enable the servo code for).

Would like to see more of this. For I am also using a bowden system and don't want to hang a servo on my carriage! (although I do have a small servo already laying around with creating this).

I was thinking of using a spring-loaded system that at the last measuring point will disable itself and slide back into the holder on the carriage, so it doesn't use a servo. But it's still just an idea.

Is there already a solution so the servo motor doesn't stay on while printing?

you know with a little bit of creativity these probe scanners can be redesigned for detailed 3d scanner probes on the delta bot.

my mastering of the obvious observations is now working!
