PG35l Extruder Motor Issues
March 21, 2014 09:17PM
I've been using the PG35l motor for my extruder and use Wild Bill's design on thingiverse: [www.thingiverse.com]. The extruder design is great but I can't seem to get my PG35l dialed in. I've found I can manually extrude and retract , but I've also found if I have the extruder acceleration set at 1000 mm/s^2 or above, the motor won't retract. Will still extrude though. I have to lower the acceleration to 500 mm/s^2 to get retraction, but then my prints turn out horrible.Does anyone have any experience with these motors and have had similar issues? Thanks for the help!

I've been using a PG35L with a modified Micro-Extruder V5 for a few weeks now. I had to lower my retract speed to 15mm/s to prevent stalling.

At the moment I'm using marlin's built in retraction so I can set a separate restart speed of 10mm/s.
