What did i do wrong?

Hey guys smiling smiley
i just destroyed my ramps 1.4 shield...
i connected the x axis at the y axis connector on the shield ( with 3 jumpers on) (just for testing the endstops).
the motor worked fine. then i moved the bed and then pressen the endstop and it stopped and set the position on 0 as it should be.
Then i attached the endstop to the axis. then i pressed "auto home". the bed moved towards the endstop but when it hit the endstop the shield started smoking and now is broken.
As i said already the motor was the only one connected.
i hope you can tell me what i did wrong.
And sry for my bad english. winking smiley

What started smoking? Something on Ramps or a stepper driver?

it was not a driver.
it lookes like the + connector of D8 got very hot..

D8 is for the heated bed usually. Did you have a heated bed plugged in? Did you command it to turn on? The mosfet for D8 on some RAMPS boards are marginal at best and need to have a heat sink attached at minimum at be actively cooled (fan blowing on it) ideally. My ramps board is like that. I couldn't run the heated bed for more then about 10 seconds before the magic smoke started to release. Got a heat sink and an old CPU fan and it's been perfectly fine ever since.

RAMPS drivers likes to have a heat sink blowing on them anyways so I'd just go the fan route.

Did you connect the endstop to S and - ?

i connected 3 pins: 5v, signal ,ground

i think i found the part that is broken now (photo)
is it possible to exchange this piece?
Can you imagine what the reason was?
maybe too many ampere on the stepper driver?

Edit:
the piece is called: AMS1117-5.0V
could it be because of my powersupply?

You should only need 5V and signal to your endstop switch. With the ground connected you most likely shorted 5V and ground which smoked your 5V regulator. You can replace just that part if you have some SMT soldering skills. For parts like that I usually flood the 3 pins with solder and then add solder to the other side then move the iron back and forth to each side untill the part just slides off. I then wick off the excess solder with solder wick and clean with 90% isopropyl. To get the new part lined up I will tack one pin with solder and align it. Then solder all pins.

You only need two cables for the end stop switch, if you wired three then what it did was to short out your RAMPS.

Thank you guys smiling smiley
So i just need to connect Signal & 5v or Singal & ground ?

Depends on what type of endstops you have. Are they bare switches?

As Cameron said, it depends on the endstop. See [reprap.org] for some different types, and maybe [reprap.org] for mechanical endstops and RAMPS, or [reprap.org]

If everything was fine until you hit the endstop, it sounds like the endstop shorted the +5V directly to ground and overloaded your AMS1117-5.0V until it burned up.

That pic doesn't look like the RAMPS 1.4 board here: [reprap.org]

You could probably take that burned up voltage regulator off and hook up a 7805 voltage regulator off of the board and back-feed the 5V into one of the other connectors.

ok thank you very much!
I've got mechanical endstops but i had no idea how to connect them correctly, but now i know smiling smiley
