HELP!!!! Novice problems in 3d printing
March 31, 2014 01:41PM
We are new to the world of 3d printing. we built a printer from scratch . we are not using any standard printer available on market. There are a few problems we faced while attempting our first print: ( Now we have been trying many combinations for past two weeks without any success)

1/ After giving print command , the temperature drops down and never reaches the required printing temperature as per setup ( even we finish two movies waiting)..

2/ Locating the centre for printing on bed. We noticed that we get different centre points on pronterface / slicer settings, though in both the cases it shows the object on bed but while it prints outside the bed. No clue why?

There are few other problems but these two seem to be very important for the time being.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Best,
Chinmay

1. Check your slicing settings, in whatever slicing software you're using. You should have printing temperature set in your slicing settings. If not, the temperature will drop when the print starts, even if you manually set a temperature prior to printing.

2. Again, check your slicing settings. The dimensions of the printer should be set before your slice, otherwise your center will be off and your piece may print off the bed.
