I just purchased the 8825 from reprapdiscount.com but they are different from the pictures and the silk side is up. My question is why are they like this and were do you put a heatsink if running ramps 1.4 not enough room to mount it to the chip since it is underneath and not on top or am i wrong?

Maybe they have put the pins on the wrong side by mistake?

Most chips have large solder pads on the back of them and are designed to be cooled via the circuit board and most of them should not actually be cooled through the plastic casing as we do with A4988's. If you notice on the back of the board there is a large metal pad designed to have the heatsink attached to it so you are actually cooling the part of the chip designed to be cooled.

Sublime got this right; just imagine the chips are where they "should be".
