I've just finished converting a Shapeoko 2 into a 3D printer by:
- bolting on an extruder (a Greg's Wade Reloaded Extruder (from kbot3d))
- wiring up a hot-end (J-Head Mk V-BV 1.75mm hotend from hotends.com)
- replacing the Arduino/gshield w/ a Smoothieboard (Azteeg X5 mini)
Using a multimeter I was able to verify continuity for the motor connections okay, but I'm not completely understanding any of the directions for testing the thermistor or heating unit --- anyone have a link which explains that in terms a layman will understand?
If I just power it up, how do I tell if things are working properly?
