Myth or reality?

Inductive proximity home/limit switches including dual ones to auto square the gantry each time you home.

It is a very good idea if you are using two motors to drive a gantry, especially if microstepping, as the motors may take completely different positions when first turned on.

I was just reading about this today. 3d routers that only use a master, and a slave stepper motor do shift a little, and it shows up as a stepped cut. A timing belt connecting two lead screws with one stepper motor fixes any shifting errors for the most part. I'm presently trying to figure out how to use 2 motors, master/slave, and a timing belt between parallel axis to work in harmony, (some thing needs to slip during tuning).
