Thermocouple on Melzi Board

Hi all,

I upgraded my hot end and the new one I ended up buying uses a K-Type Thermocouple. From the reading I did I am guessing I need a Thermocouple Amplifier such as MAX6675 or AD595.

My questions are:

1. Could i use MAX31855 as this seems like the "newer" version and more readily available

2. How do I connect it to my Melzi board? I'm guessing I cant connect it to the thermisistor pins?

I am using the Marlin firmware

Appreciate any help... I am still a newbie to both 3D printing and electronics

Cheers

James

after more reading it would seem the AD595 uses a signal and a ground wire.. would this mean its possible to input into the thermistor input pins?
