Stepper Motor Question
August 09, 2014 07:47PM
So I think I have wired the motors correctly but I have a question. I know my pin arrangment for my motors is as follows:

Pin 1: B-
Pin 2: COM
Pin 3: B
Pin 4: A
Pin 5: COM
Pin 6: A-

How do these correspond to the RAMPS board (2A, 2B, 1A, 1cool smiley
Thanks

The wires work in pairs, orientation doesn't matter, so long as they are next to each other.

Switching any will result in a direction change on the motor.
So if you flip the whole connector it will reverse, as will just swapping the twos.

So:
B- to pin 2a
B to pin 2b
A to pin 1a
A- to pin 1b

but it can also be
B to pin 2a
B- to pin 2b
A- to pin 1a
A to pin 1b

or even
B to pin 1a
B- to pin 1b
A- to pin 2a
A to pin 2b

or
B- to pin 1a
B to pin 1b
A to pin 2a
A- to pin 2b

Alright this is my arrangment, but they are not similiar to your arrangment. Both my "A" desnigations correspond to a A- or B-. In all of your choices the negative and positive are alwasy opposite. As in if A- is 2b the B- is 1a and vice versa.

A- to pin 2a
A to pin 2b
B- to pin 1a
B to pin 1b
