Some fellow is apparently developing his own version of Polyjet printing which could be much cheaper than what 3D Systems offers:

But what's so attractive about Polyjet printing anyway? What does it offer? Is it true that it produces some of the finest quality printed parts?

I've been reading that Polyjet printed parts can be used as finished quality goods. Is that true?

Also, has anybody else in the RepRap community tried developing anything like Polyjet?

A non-fellow [company] has developed electronics printing that I apparently missed when it came out a while ago.

Not exactly the same, but similar in spirit:
This uses molten wax instead of UV-curing resin: Heated Piezo for Jetting Wax
And this is a paste dispenser combined with UV LEDs designed specifically for UV-curing resins: VDX Paste Dispenser
