could anyone stamp "Arduino MEGA 2560" on the board?

Yes.

Wether doing so is in accordance with trademark laws is a different question.

Let's focus on what most people want. Building stuff. I think it is much more productive to leave a no-win philosophical debate about global manufacturing and concentrate on what works.

It was asked and ignored thus far .. among the less-expensive suppliers (I find "cheap" antagonistic) .. what suppliers on ebay, aliexpress, dx, banggood .. whatever .. provide reasonable quality components to let us build things.

I have supported the community. I have bought real Arduinos. I have bought real J-Heads. I have bought RAMPS from Ultimachine ..

I now want to experiment .. I want a foldarap .. I want a resin .. I want to upgrade my less expensive laser cutter I got from China to alternative electronics .. To do everything I need to economize ...

Lets be productive .. what works, from who .....

AS someone who has just ordered a 3d printer kit through aliexpress,I have to support the view that if it wasn't for the bottom end suppliers, many people like myself wouldn't have a show of getting into 3d printing.
I went through the rigmarole of pricing components from various individual suppliers, and found I couldn't build a Prusa i3 for much less than $1000US.Because of my location(new zealand),prices are mostly based on overseas products shipped to me.Hardware is of course available locally, but also priced much higher than in ,say, the US.
The kit I bought from china cost under $400US,and i'm guestimating I may have to replace some of the hardware with local stuff.Even then,I'm looking at less $600US.
Just as an example,a local stationery chain sells(or tries too) a Replicator 2 for $3500nz,about us$2600-2800.I don't know too many people that will spend that sort of money on a 3d printer, other than maybe some businesses.
And that has a much smaller build envelope than anything I would even consider building myself.
The Chinese people are now embracing the concept of capitalism, and the western world has taught them well.
To be competitive, you have to have some advantage. The chinese advantage is economies of scale.
As for quality, that,s in the eye of the beholder.Look at the automotive industry. How many vehicles have had to be recalled to fix manufacturing defects?Yet people still buy the same crappy cars,at ever increasing prices.
All I want is a 3d printer, and if the only one i can afford comes from china, than that is the one i buy.
If that means some tinkering, than i accept that is part of the reason i bought a kit in the first place,to tinkersmiling smiley

Haha, the Warehouse! I think they may have a job shifting them in quantity.
Where are you located?
