Comms problems

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can give me some suggestions with the following.

I'm trying to test my V1.2 motherboard (from Makerbot). I am pretty sure I have programmed it correctly & the LED now flashes once per second

When I rum the Reprap program I see in the consol that it attempts to initialise the Arduino but this is followed by a string of 'Receive error, resending...' . The LED is flickering during this time. Eventually the Reprap program opens, but nothing works.

If I open the serial monitor in the Arduino and press the restart button the motherboard responds with 'start', but won't listen to any commands I send it.

I'm confused! The motherboard seems to be capable of receiving stuff (I managed to program it and can make the LED flicker) and I can listen to it (at least when it says 'start') but there is clearly a communications problem.

I would be extremely grateful for any ideas

thanks

Bob

I found the problem, which I record here in case it is of help to others.

I was using a Reprap program that I downloaded a few months ago, when I was trying to learn what Reprap was about. This appears not to be compatible with the controller firmware, as things seem better with the latest version. Not working, needless to say, but showing slightly more sign of life!
