Server PSU mod needed: HP DL380 G3 400W

Hey everybody!

I just got a HP DL380 G3 400W power supply in order to get my printer running on it. Do you might know any literature about how to get the 12V and how to modify (if there is anything to modify) to make it serve as a 3D printer PSU (my case: Prusa i3)?

A link or something is absolutely sufficient :-)

Bests and thanks in advance,
mardy3d :-)

You will need to find the pinout of the board or get the part the PSU plugs into, then you can cut up the motherboard and CPU cables like any standard desktop PSU, there are a bunch of guides out there. If you do the second part you could have a hotswappable PSU.

Ooh, nice one, cheap too! 16$ on amazon...

I can't help you, but please keep us informed about your progress! I'm curious if this is a good PSU. I'm using a Hitachi HS400-08C-S
