temperature problem in mini kossel with richcattell marlin 1.04
October 27, 2014 10:50AM
Hello everyone.
Recently I have updated my 3D printer firmware to richcattell marlin 1.04 for the auto-calibration fuction.
But when I connect my printer to comupter using pronterface, the hotend starts heating automatically to 240(because I set MAXTEMP to 240), then a warning showed up :
: Extruder switched off. MAXTEMP triggered !
Errortongue sticking out smileyrinter stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)
[ERROR] Error : Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)
Even though I set a value using pronterface to fix it, it does not work. Temperature keeps rising.
What is wrong?
Thanks

After few days, I find the following situation:
When connect to printer, the hotend is off. I can't control the temperature, set a value to it but the hotend do not respond, temperature keep unchaged.
After G28, the hotend start heating, but I can't control the temperature, the temperature keep rising to MAXTEMP even I have set a value to it.

Verystrong,
I'm not familiar with that build of Marlin, but...
It is very common for the configuration.h to be incorrect for your hardware, who knows what hardware the person had that uploaded it?
So, probably something wrong in configuration.h, perhaps the motherboard setting is incorrect? Can you compare it to the old version you had?
Or try another firmware like Repetier.

Hi,

I had the same problem and figured out that Marlin is using pin8 (D8) for the hotend heating. I switched that in the pins.h and now it's working fine.
