I'm looking to build a reprap, but need some input first. I was looking at the reprap pro mono Mendel as I like the ability to add on a couple heads once I get everything up and running.
On the specs for the Mendel, I believe I'm reading it correctly to have a 0.5 mm hot end tip. Is that correct? Has anyone had any experience with putting a smaller one on there?
Also, while this will be my first 3d printer of my own, a very good friend of mine has a printrbot simple, and I've had many hours with him working with it, including a rebuild and subsequent calibration. Is there a better printer I should be looking at? Ultimately while I'd like the highest quality prints possible, I'm more concerned about a balance between quality, speed, and ease of use.
Thanks,
David
Edit: fixed some auto correct problems
