[Beginner] Question about slicing
February 01, 2015 03:52PM
Hello ,
i'm new to this forum, and i'm a beginner in the world of 3dprintings.
Following some guides on internet, i've built my own delta 3d printer, i use slic3r or CuraEngine as slicer.

My question is maybe stupid but i can't find an answer: how can i say to my printer to star printing from given coordinates?

For example: i want to print a little cube over and existing cube (already printed and placed in the center of the printer's bed )

How can i do that?

thanks for your patience

You'd just have to raise the cube 10cm off the virtual bed in the slicer, or you could raise the Z-endstop so that it homes to the 10cm position.

Does your slicer have axis adjustments? I would recommend against adjusting the endstop because it's already adjusted, and raising the cube in the slicer might confuse it (it might hit the existing cube). KISSlicer has a setting to raise or lower the Z, I dunno what others have it.
