Prusa I3 stops mid print

hi all,
I'm using prusa i3 with ramps1.4, marlin and I'm printing from sd card.
I have been trying a 13 hr print for almost 3 days and the printer stops when it reaches almost 80-90%. when it stops the lcd becomes unresponsive I have to reset the ramps to make it working again.
both heated bed and hotend are turned off when this happens. Extruder motor makes a clicking (thats the only word i can find) noise just before it hangs. The extruder is not jammed, its working again when i reset the board. I changed the sd card that I was using but it didn't help,
I have no idea what to do now.
please help

Thanks in advance.

It could be overheating that wouldnt show up on shorter prints.
Are you cooling your controller board and stepper drivers?
Are the motors very hot to the touch?

If not it could be a faulty resetable fuse if its a ramps board.

I'm cooling my controller board and stepper motor drivers with a fan,
but the whole circuit is enclosed in a box.

how to check if the fuse is faulty??
