Get rid of the iBox Nano. Company has failed to fulfill their Kickstarter rewards and has stopped reply to inquiries. Assumption is the project is dead and the money gone.

Thanks!

In regards to LEWIHE, i ordered the PLAY [www.lewihe.com] with just the frame.
Before the current "MAKER EDITION" they were selling just the frame without the plastic parts.
I messaged LEWIHE to get the stls for the plastic printer parts with no answer.
The stls are not published on the website and I couldn't find them elsewere.
Any other buyer of LEWIHE play here?

They sent a mail to the firsts buyers (only frame buyers) with a link to the STL files.
I let him a message in the spanish reprap google group pointing to your post.

I am interested in the Play, too.

I also asked them yesterday, if I can have the files for the parts to print out myself in case they are printed in PLA.

I have a friend here in NYC who has been playing around with miniature 3D printers for a while. He is working on scale models of well known printers. Here is his blog which shows a Mini PrinterBot Simple, MiniMendelMax (MendelMini???), and a Mini Ultimaker.

minirap.com

His Mini PrinterBot Simple won first place at NYC MakerFaire this year, a few of his friends (me included) are trying to convince him to do a kickstarter for it. Here is a video:

What do you guys think????? I am not sure if it really is the worlds smallest printer, but that's what the AdaFruit reporter guy decided to call it.....

Oh, you can see my Candy Apple CoreXY printer in the background of the video too....

He has his own lasercutter at home, so it is easy for him to do his prototyping. For production he would probably use a larger lasercutter to print faster with less waste.....

If he does a kickstarter, he will likely be willing to sell you laser printed parts too...

Zippy, is your goal to make a small CoreXY printer????? if it is, you can make it much smaller I think. my CoreXY is 270x310x365mm in size and has a print volume of 200x200x260. I think you could make a pretty small CoreXY.

Yes I want a very small CoreXY. But my CAD skills are pretty bad. grinning smiley

Can you post some pics of yours so I can pick some ideas from it?

Wow thats very nice!

I think you build is an HBot, no CoreXY, because I see no belts crossing. Which motors did you use?

No, it is a CoreXY. If you watch the video, you can see the 4 belt ends are attached to the carriage, which only works on CoreXY.

The belts cross in the back under the black cover, above where all the motors are.

I used 4 identical 78 oz in 0.9 degree stepper motors.

Hi, So it is official. My friend did a kickstarter for his miniature version of the PrintrBot Simple which he named Baby3D to avoid trademark problems.

Here is the link so you can check it out:

Baby3D Kickstarter

He expects no problems with delivery as he already has built several functioning units and has backup suppliers. I am going to post this in the crowdfunding section too....

I have updated the small printer spreadsheet to reflect the new pricing, name and such:

Small Printer Comparison Spreadsheet

There are still some small printers that do not have information correctly shown. Anyone can modify this right now, so please add data that you know.....
