Interesting approach, reminds me of a carburetor with a needle.
Would be awesome if you could motorize the needle and get software support from slicers, so that a print can be sliced using the maximum nozzlediameter for large areas and the small diameter for details. I think your approach is very promising, but if it proves to work flawlessly, this is only the beginning of a new generation of extruders.
