Hows the support currently for using other types of tools on a reprap mendel? F.ex if someone wanted to fit an etcher where the extruder is on a mendel, how hard would it be to actually make the software fit the use of this tool?
I was thinking about how to mount a tool, and I want to design a way to fit an etcher(wood etching). Figured you could do this by redesigning the extruder stl to make it possible to fit an etcher somewhere on it that could be mounted without taking off the extruder or nozzle. But would it be possible in the software to do anything with that tool? Just make your own gcode movements, hardcoded?
Imagine that the etcher looks like a pen, and you fit the etcher on the extruders specially designed etchermounts. The nozzle is still in place and the tip of the etcher has another location then the extruders nozzle. Does reprap host support setting a different location for this etchers tooltip? Reprap host wouldnt know the position of this tool so moving the etcher around with gcode wouldnt work correctly unless you could set its position maybe relative to the extruders nozzle that is known to the system. What do you think?
