I am looking into using the ps_on output from ramps 1.4 to turn on atx psu. I understand what is needed but looking at my ramps board there is a small green jumper between ps_on and 5V. I see this on other boards on peoples images on the web. It was fitted when I bought the board. Why is it there? It doesnt seem to be fulfilling any purpose.

If I recall, that header has two functions . . . the two pins the jumper is on feed 5 volts to the servo pins near it, or can be used to feed a separate 5v source to said pins. The third, open pin, is the PS control line output.

According to the schematic the jumper is between 5V (centre pin) and PS_ON (pin nearest edge of pcb).

It may well be in the wrong position . . . is not the other pin the servo feed, or did I brain fart?

That jumper is in the wrong poistion to do anything useful.

Its normally used to connect VCC to 5v to power the servos

PS-ON is a single pin on its own.

Yes, that was the conclusion I came to. If you look at other images on the web there are lots of boards, mainly the multi-coloured ones like mine, that have it in the same position. If it's not doing anything useful I will remove it when I start using the ps_on pin. Thanks for your replies.
