End stop connectors

Hello fellow RepRappers,

What I'm looking for is the name of the connectors that plug into the Ramps board from the endstops. I'm referring to the single black connectors. I need to remove and replace them as I want to sleeve all of the cabling to make everything nice and neat.

Yes, I've tried googling, but can't quite get the right search term....

Thanks in advance.

Ah, the endstop connectors - possibly my least favourite area of the ramps board. They are .1" pitch DuPont connectors. My optical endstops came with individual connectors on each wire, so every time I plug them in I have to figure out the connections one by one, and the wires are not consistently colour coded. We could really have done with a polarized connector there, but I know we're short of space. Might just have been able to squeeze in a fourth row of pins parallel with the i2c pin21, and omit one of the existing rows. Then a 4 pin dupont with one pin plugged would have given us the desired polarization. The other possibility was to keep the existing physical layout, but put signal in the middle. Then a reversed connection of a micro-switch endstop (using a 3 pin connector) would have been less destructive than shorting the 5v rail. Which is all a long winded way of saying, hey, be careful around your endstop connectors!

Just take the leads of of the connector shell, do what you need to do, and then put them back . . . or did I miss something?

No, you're right. The issue I had was getting the pins through the braided sleeve, but I've worked that out now!

Thanks for your help.

I just bought these connectors for my own build. The best price I found (it was a tough thing to search for) was Pololu:

Check out digikey.com. They don't carry DuPont, but do the Molex ones.
