Error:0
: Extruder switched off. MAXTEMP triggered !

This is the error I get when connecting my printer to pronterface, and it turns off everything. How can I fix this? I am not even using a hotend, is there a way to change the firmware to remove this issue?

Do you have your thermistor set correctly?

I'd guess it's *because* you don't have a hotend. The thermistor input is open-circuit, and is interpreted as some very high temperature.

Try putting a resistor (say 100K) across the thermistor inputs.
