Power Supply for Prusa i3 + other electronic boards

Hi guys, well i'm building my first prusa i3: i finished the assembly but now i'm stuck with the problem discribed in the subject : i can't help chosing a power supply ( i like to hook up a pc power supply unit) .

The power supply should power up these things :
- RAMPS
- Raspberry pi
- LEDs
- 7 inch Screen

So please would you help me chose one ( you should tell me the minimum specifications of voltage and output Watt values ) and if there a tutorial for such thing i really appreciate your help

Hi,

A RaspberryPi B+ needs 0.24A that's very low.
The 7" touchscreen needs 0.6A
The ramps needs 5A for motors and arduino, and 8A for the bed.
The leds, it depends of the number of the leds and power needed.
5050 white led strip needs 0.75A per meter under 12v
If you've got 1 meter of leds let's say you need a 25A PSU or 300W.

Some PC power supply cannot delivery power fluently for 3D printing.
Some 300w PSU can only deliver +-200w contineously.
You'd rather get a proper PSU, like this one : 12V 25A 300W

Ok thanks J-Max, i'll try to get this one, but one question : is 350 Watt PSU good for building this project??

Once you're sure the PSU can deliver contineously at last 25A, it's OK.

Hi,

As you can see on the label the PSU delivers only 13A on the 12V port. You need much more.
