aworldnet a600 won't extrude

Hello. I'm pretty new to 3d printing, and I'm stuck. :-\ I got an aworldnet a600 printer ( This one: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Aurora-Z601-upgrade-3D-printer-DIY-CNC-Suit-Self-assembly-Three-Dimensional-Physical-3D-printer-Z605/837344_1800763081.html ) and it's fully assembled, but the extruder doesn't seem to work. More specifically, the motor doesn't turn when I tell it to extrude via software. The X, Y and Z axis motors turn fine. I know the motor is good, and I know the wires are good. I switched the wiring on the board over to the X axis and the motor worked fine. But when it's wired into the extruder section of the board, it never moves. I don't know if this might be a driver issue or maybe a bad board or what. FWIW I'm running on Windows 10. I'd really appreciate any help or direction you might be able to give me, I'm really in uncharted territory here.

Usually the firmware will prevent any cold extrusion. Is the hotend at printing temperature when you try to use the extruder?

That was absolutely the problem! Man, I feel like a bone head. Thanks!
