Introduction: Hello, I

I'm new around here and I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Matt Browne and I'm a computer scientist and a part-time science fiction writer. My
special interests include:

interstellar travel, artificial intelligence, androids and the technological singularity, nanotechnology, biotechnology, cryopreservation of embryos, replication of probes, natural language processing, extinction level events, supervolcanoes.

This looks like a very interesting forum.

Sounds cool! Welcome. Will you be making a RepRap or helping with other things?

Cheers!

Hi Matt,

... maybe in your next essay you should write a SF-story about sending an 'omni-reprap' to the stars instead of embryos winking smiley

I think, in some future there should be 'seeds' or probes sent to other planets in our or foreign solar-systems, where the probe starts with reprapping a fabbing plant, which builds exploration-scouts and other sophisticated stuff to scan the areal and maybe start a colony of some sort - maybe for humans in later waves, maybe for reprappers only ...
