Auto level not level
May 01, 2016 10:50AM
I have two prusa I3 printers i have built in the past. I was using a servo with a limit switch mounted on an arm for the bed auto level. I always had issues with the print not being perfectly level with the bed even when using the auto level feature. I replaced my servo and limit switches with proximity switches hoping that was causing the inaccuracy. I still have the same problem on both machines. I am printing on 3mm thick plate of glass. I cant imagine the glass is warped.

Anyone else have a similar issue and figure it out?

Does the servo move any during the probing? On one of my printers it would always move a little after the first two probes, so I changed it to a BL Touch.

I can, because mine is.

Are there 4 leveling screws at the corners of the bed? 4 screws will bend the bed (and undercarriage). There's no leveling a bent bed, either manually or automatically.

My i3 y carriage was so wobbly before I moved over to a much improved version I was never keeping it level. Now it's reasonable but compared to my other much more solid machines the level is never great.
