If you are serious about RepRap don't say if but when.

I think most people can manage to build a working printer with enough perseverance (and funds lol)

You sense my frustration?! I'm having a little break from the build, partly due to time shortages but mainly as i've been close to launching it, or my computers out the window!

I've tried Linux, Vista and Mac OS and each has hit a dead end. Assembly, no problem, making a computer talk to a home made machine, hmmmm. Different problems on different OS's.

I don't give up that easy plus there are plenty of people here that are generous with their time helping out.

I built a McWire, at least 2x because everything had to be redone from how it was described on the wiki, I've replaced many parts on it, and still have issues (My initial choice of the platform to build was poor) if I can save you ANY hardship I suggest getting a

PCB heated bed, you can get it from reprap source

a relay to drive it, you can get one from makerbot, if you try to run it through the extruder controller you'll be disapointed.

an all metal hot end similar to the MK5 hot end on makerbot store... there are some recent posts from other who've done it and one guy who's going to sell them by christmas.

I'm also interested in doing the biped servo robot body in printed parts, but have to get my printer to be reliable 1st.
