PTFE tubing for Diamond Head Thermistor Port

Hi.

Reading over the "Diamond Hotend for RAMPS" pdf I noted in step 5 that it is recommended to insert around the thermistor a small amount of PTFE tubing inserted into the thermistor port. I measured the hole and note it has a 2mm diameter hole and the thermistor is 1.75mm diameter. Where do I procure PTFE tubing that will fit into the hole around the Thermistor?

I think they mean PTFE tape around the sensor.

Could be, but the image of the hotend when zoomed in looks like a PTFE tube is in the hole.

You find any PTFE tubing that's 1.75mm ID and 2mm OD. In any case, you wouldn't want the tubing to go over the thermistor as it would insulate it from the brass part. What you do need to do is insulate the thermistor leads so that they don't short out on the brass nozzle and the usual way to do that is high temperature heat sink tubing or very thin silicone tubing. Out of the box thinking is easier when you never fitted in the box to begin with. smiling smiley
