FR = ONLY 28%

But it makes a nice finish !!

So if I leave things alone it will take 36 hours !

I asked in another thread if a plugged in SDCARD had full control , but I guess this is one setting that can be overidden.

When is the best time DURING A PRINT to jack the speed up ? Or can I just slowly turn that knob while it is running? ....THAT IS WHAT I DID.

I also have a bit of a problem that it kicks itself off location when it jerks badly during some fill patterns. I suspect that it is jumping some grooves on the belt. My son-in-law tells me that the stepper misses steps also...knocking things off location. I was given a thing that looks like a spring from a mouse trap or clothespin but no instructions on how to install it for the belt. I know it is to take up a bit of slack. I got the "deluxe" or "upgraded" model but was only given instructions for the regular model.

My printer (one like mine) is in this video....for those of you that want to know.....[www.youtube.com];

28% of what? What speed did you set in your slicer?
Are you printing PLA or ABS?
Have you calibrated your stepper drivers voltage?

28% of the speed set up by slic3r
max was set up at 60 mm/sec but real max of printer only 50 mm/sec so I lowered FR to 80%
pla

using default presets for stepper voltage

This is the Infitary model

I'm running at full speed now.

If it is skipping during some fill patterns and the belt is tight, you have the acceleration and/or the jerk set too high.

Thanks DD

The printer was set a bit too high in slic3r....60mm/sec and it is only rated at 50mm/sec .I slowed it down yesterday....and BTW the finish looked better when running at 100% speed than when running at 28% speed.

I have a couple other problems with this printer.

1) That tiny screw (tightened with the allan key) next to the thermistor keeps falling out.

2)Now that the thermistor is secured....the heater core came halfway out....not enough heat for the plastic but enough to fool the thermistor.....the surface of my box looks like the craters on the moon and ....yes the tip is plugged up again! My original tip was a .3 mm and I'm going to finally replace it with the .4 that my son-in-law gave me. I have another 10 .4mm tips coming on a slow boat from China. I'm also going to look closer at my extruder mechanism....It may also be plugged.

I'll need to change my nozzle to .4 in slic3r.
