Anyone have experience with clip bearings? specifically Igus iglide clip bearings.
Igus web page

I'm looking to resuscitate a worn out printer where the manufacturer foolishly had the Y carriage ride directly on the rods. Not surprisingly, it developed slop way too early. It's too tight to squeeze in lm8uu bearings, and clip bearings might be a practical alternative if the carriages aren't too eroded. Looks like there are 4 points on each side that might fit an MCM-08-04 clip bearing. I don't expect they would last indefinitely, but this is a light duty printer.

I'm not a fan of putting lipstick on a pig, but it might work if you can't change the carriage to accept something more proven....

Good luck

These clip bearings aren't realy made for any kind of load. Think of them as a protection and guidance for rods that move through holes in metal.
Use real bearings or bushings if you want something reliable.
