PEI removal (WITHOUT damage)

Hi

I got one of the MK42 beds and i'm in the need of changing out the standoffs that came on it.

are there any tricks that can be used to lift the PEI without causing any damage to either PEI or adhesive ?

or is the only alternative to take an sharp knife and cut a cross on the screw head just big enough that an allen key can get to it?

If is the same stuff as on the mk2, no way to remove it other than destructive, that I know of...

[manual.prusa3d.com]

but I wonder if you let the adhesive warm up if becomes sticky again and you could re stick the PEI

but yes that was also my idea... heating it up and lift the pei and restick while the glue is hot

and then again i just need access with an allen key so i can hold the screw

hmm... guess i will just have to be brave and try the "cut a cross" method. seems the less risky option

Original Prusa mk2 is the machine with the original mk42 bed, what yours was cloned (not night word as it is open source) from.

I wouldn’t want to heat it, not beyond 100c anyways, might warp the bed

anyways

i had to cut arround the screws so damage can be avoided.

i can use the bed but the pei will have to be replaced.
