Hi
Please can you tell me where the firmware resides ( Marlin ) when you upload to the Arduino Mega & Ramps 1.4 ?
Does it sit on the Arduino board or the Ramps 1.4 board ?

... on the Arduino -- the RAMPS is only used for "wiring" the µC-Pins to the correct socket pins ...
